I'm glad I came up here. Apparently after the last windstorm a branch fell against one of the side windows and broke it, and when I came in, the floor was all damp and the furnace was roaring away, trying to heat the entire world. I went down to the hardware place a little ways from here, the place my father used to buy nails and screens and things like that, and got them to cut a pane of glass, which I put in using some putty and tools that were in the basement. I now have splotchy putty crud on my fingers and I cut myself slightly with the thing I was using the scrape the excess putty off the glass, but it's fixed now.
I let Fargo out into the back yard. He went over, ate some tall grass that was along the side of the steps, then came back in and immediately threw it up all over the kitchen floor. I don't know why he didn't just stay inside and throw up, or throw up outside. I guess I just don't understand the process very well.
I've let my regional upbringing get to me, and I guess the Minnesota Timberwolves (is that their name?) are playing this weekend in the NBA playoffs. I'm trying to become a little more aware of everything, and I figured the best time to see good basketball would be now. Seeing that Chicago Bulls game got me interested.
We were just about the only house on this block that didn't have a basketball net up over the garage. I think a lot of that had to do with my being the only child, and not being at all interested in shooting baskets. My father never had any real interest in it, so we never had one. Everyone else on the street had several children and everyone had some boys. The two boys across the street and over a couple of houses were always getting in trouble because they were always breaking the glass windows in the garage door. Why their father didn't replace them with plexiglass, I never understood. He'd just yell a lot, then replace them with panes of glass from the hardware store I went to this morning.
I try to get out of repetitive bad habits.
I always enjoy your comments. It's been a while since anyone left any.
